World Bank projects global growth of 2.5% in 2026

The World Bank projects global growth will slow to 2.5% in 2026. Higher energy prices, geopolitical tensions and debt costs weigh especially heavily on emerging and developing economies.

Its priorities include energy and food security, fiscal stability, job creation and investment. Wider AI adoption could help, but benefits will depend on countries’ capacity to use it.
